FEMA – the Federal Emergency Management Administration – publishes maps of areas that could flood, which represents a 1% chance of occurring in any given year.

These maps are called FIRMs – Flood Insurance Rate Maps. FEMA has issued the preliminary FIRMS for Dodge County.

Now is the time to review your property to check its status on the latest maps because the statutory 90-day appeal period will start following the second publication of the public notification. That is scheduled to be published in the local newspaper on or about Sept. 7.
