Attention Driver's License Applicants: The State has recently introduced the option to renew or replace a "Standard" Driver's License online. If you have no major changes to your license you can check online at drive.mn.gov to see if you qualify.
Customers are required to follow COVID restrictions. Driver's License customers should arrive early to guarantee service. Our building hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
The Recorder's Office is the office where permanent records that pertain to real estate in Dodge County are recorded. All documents for both Torrens and Abstract land (ex: deeds, mortgages, contracts, liens, releases, etc), including official plats and Right of Way (ROW) maps for both city and rural areas can be found in this office after they have been recorded.
This office offers full abstracting services to the public which includes updating existing abstracts and creating new abstracts, as well as performing tract searches and owners' and encumbrances reports. There is a charge for these services. Please contact our office for more information.
Military Service discharges are also filed in this office at no cost to the veteran and are kept confidential.
Other services offered in the office include vital records, driver's licenses, and passport photos. These include, but not not limited to: issuing of certified and non-certified copies of birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage records. This office is also where you would go for processing applications for marriage licenses, filing notary public commissions and renewing driver licenses (Enhanced, Standard, and Real ID) and state ID cards. For information regarding written or driving tests, please contact an exam station. We do not accept reinstatement fees or fines in our office. The closest exam station is the Rochester Exam Station and they can be contacted at 507-923-2020.
