Dodge County received a Greater MN Recycling and Composting Grant from  MN Pollution Control Agency for $120,549 to help with the construction of a ReUse Facility.  This project is built along the new 16th Street which is delayed for an unknown amount of time. The Dodge County Highway Department helped us out with getting an access road to the facility. The excavation is finished and the building has been constructed, concrete, lighting and electrical are complete.  We still have things we need to do to finish the building for full-time use.  The building is currently not insulated, sheeted, plumbed or any HVAC so extreme temperatures may be an issue.

How can you help?  Instead of demolishing that older deck, bathroom or kitchen - choose to deconstruct and bring the items that are still usable and in good condition to the Dodge County Renovation ReUse so that someone else can extend the life of the item and save space in the landfill.  See below for what is acceptable!

Dodge County Environmental Services is happy to have Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity as a partner in our mission of reuse.

TwoRivers_Hz_Black
Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity will be the recipient of the materials accepted for a portion of the building. The Dodge County site will be a drop off location for items that are acceptable to the Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 3034 40th Ave NW in Rochester.  See attached for the acceptable and not acceptable list.  They will transport the items to their facility for resale.  Proceeds from their sales go to help with affordable housing solutions for families in need in Dodge, Olmsted, Steele, Wabasha and Waseca Counties.

The other portion of the building will be for Dodge County to sell lightly used, new, and good reusable materials to the community for affordable prices.  The acceptable list for the sales side of the Renovation ReUse building is available here.  Call us to drop off your items - we will be having a Sale at the Dodge County Facility on March 2nd from 8 a.m. - Noon.

We are excited to see the progress and are grateful for our partnership. There will be more pictures to come as we move along.  'Like' the Dodge County Environmental Services Facebook page to see up to date information from Environmental Services and the Dodge County Transfer Station.
