This weekend landmarks and fire halls across the nation will be lit with red lights to honor fallen firefighters. Dodge County Facilities, Fleet, & Safety Director Duke Harbaugh explained that, “Dodge County will be participating in Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters by illuminating the Courthouse [in Mantorville,] red in honor of The National Fallen Fighters Memorial Weekend… This is honoring the firefighters who have died in the line of duty of during the previous year.”

The Courthouse will be lit through the weekend. The original construction on the elegant courthouse building began in 1865. It is the oldest continuously operating courthouse in the state of Minnesota.

This is the 25th anniversary of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.
