Holiday Celebrations in Dodge County start on Saturday

Need a dose of the Holiday Spirit? On Dec. 4, Mantorville dishes it out with a candlelight breakfast, cookies galore, a pickle hunt, the indoor farmers market, open houses and sales in local businesses, children’s activities, caroling, sleigh rides, Santa, crafts, and more. Also on Dec. 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. at city hall, Dodge Center will have pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, letter writing to Santa, and Mrs. Claus will be reading stories. Other local businesses are also participating in their stores.

On Dec. 4, West Concord has a plethora of fun events and food galore including donuts, candy, baked goods, coffee, boxes of cards for sale, a coloring contest, craft activities, a craft fair, lunches, a silent auction, a wine tasting, a free supper, music, and more. On Dec 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kasson Public Library, there will be a Christmas Market to benefit the American Cancer Society. There will be ornaments, baked goods, decorations, and a free gift-wrapping service for all your gifts. For details, visit http://www.kasson.lib.mn.us.

On Dec. 12, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wasioja will come alive with Holiday cheer. There will be trees decorated at the creamery, the recruiting station, the schoolhouse, and the church. Light refreshments will be offered at the creamery and at the church. The tree at the recruiting station will have era ornaments and the tree at the schoolhouse will have homemade ornaments on the tree. There will be a make-and-take ornament activity at the schoolhouse. You’ll be able to sing your favorite carols at the church. St. Nicholas will tell his story near the creamery. An old-fashioned sleigh (no horses) will be available for a photo op. There will be a candlelight service at the church at 6 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Dodge County Historical Society.
