Ever dream of marketing and selling cheese from your goats or cows?  How about producing wine from the grapes grown on your farm?  Do you want to create and sell woolen products from your sheep?  Interested in getting into a “niche” market, such as organic crops or grassfed livestock?   If so, you may be eligible for USDA Rural Development’s Value Added Producer Grant!  This grant program helps agricultural producers enter into value added activities related to the processing and/or marketing of bio-based, value-added products.  For more information check out https://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/value-added-producer-grants/mn   or contact Ryan Brixius at (507) 258-8687 (ryan.brixius@usda.gov).  Applications are due by March 22, 2021.  Please be advised that some proposed businesses that are eligible for the Value Added Producer Grants may also be subject to local and state permitting.  Please take time to contact your local Zoning office for more information.
