Renovations to the drivers’ license area of the Government Services Building, 721 Main St. N, Mantorville, have begun. The renovations are needed because of current COVID 19 restrictions and increased customer demands. The office will be closed Nov. 11 through Nov. 13. Beginning Nov. 16, the office will reopen for some services.

The section of the office where photos were taken and where eye exams were held is being changed so items that require those two services will not be available until the remodeling is completed around the end of the month.

However, some services will still be available such as simple address changes and Commercial Drivers Licenses’ self-certifications. Customers are urged to call 507-635-6250 before coming to the office to determine how their needs can be met during the renovation.

Coincidentally, the state Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services division is launching a new MNDRIVE computer system on Nov. 16. During the transition, some online services will be limited. For complete details on that conversion, click on www.dps.mn.gov Details are in a Nov. 2 press release on that site.
