COMPOST:
Using compost can save you time and money.
Composting is the decomposition of plant remains and other once-living materials to make an earthy, dark, crumbly substance that is excellent for adding to houseplants or enriching garden soil. Yard and food wastes make up approximately 30% of the waste stream in the United States. Composting is the way to recycle your yard and kitchen wastes, and is a critical step in reducing the volume of garbage needlessly sent to landfills or disposal.
Compost improves low quality soils by adding stable organic matter. Plants grow healthier and the user saves by reducing the need to use fertilizers and pesticides.
Dodge County Compost is a well-balanced slow-release nutrient material with equal portions of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash. Call 507-634-7875 to see if Compost is available for purchase at the Transfer Station/Recycling Center at 62236 240th Ave, Kasson.
