The Dodge County Warrants Unit was created in the
summer of 2006 by Sheriff Gary D. Thompson and Chief
Deputy Jim Trihey as a proactive approach to confront
the ever-increasing number of outstanding arrest warrants
in Dodge County. Each year the number of warrants
in Dodge County increases; however, this increase is
also proportional to the increases in traffic and criminal
courts.
Several different resources were developed
to aid in the apprehension of fugitives. One very beneficial
resource has been the creation of high quality digital
color booking photographs through our booking system.
These photographs, coupled with research data compiled
by the unit, are placed with the working copy of the
warrant.
Other databases that are helpful in locating
suspects include Minnesota Department of Public Safety – Driver
and Vehicle Services (DVS), Statewide Supervision System
(SSS), and Minnesota Repository of Arrest Photographs
(MRAP). Dodge County deputies also frequently exchange
information with other agencies on wanted individuals.
The Warrants Division also conducts unannounced “sweeps”,
which are executed in targeted areas. These are well
organized and held in conjunction with members of the
Dodge County Sheriff’s ENTRY Team and other local,
Federal and State agencies. These “sweeps” are
successful because they allow law enforcement personnel
to remove offenders from the streets and keep them
from evading the court system.
The Warrants Division
also is responsible for maintaining the Most
Wanted offenders with
active warrants on our website, as well as following
up on any leads submitted by phone or email.
The Deputy assigned to Warrants is Deputy Scott Rose.
You can contact Deputy Rose at his direct line at 507-635-6282
or by email at scott.rose@co.dodge.mn.us.
