The Recorder’s Office is the office of record for all permanent records that pertain to real estate in Dodge County. All documents, such as deeds, mortgages, contracts, mechanic liens, mortgage assignments and releases, etc. and official plats of land in both city and rural areas are recorded in this office.

All documents similar to the ones listed above which are related to the Torrens land system are also recorded in this office with the Registrar of Titles.

As a satellite office of the Minnesota Secretary of State this office handles all aspects of the Uniform Commercial Code system (UCC) including filing all documents and performing lien searches in the state system.

This office offers full abstracting services to the public which includes updating existing abstracts and creating new abstracts as well as performing tract searches and owners’ and encumbrances reports.

Military Service discharges are also filed in this office at no cost to the veteran.

Other services offered in the office include Vital Statistic Records – issuing of certified birth, death and marriage records; processing applications for marriage licenses, filing notary public commissions and renewing driver licenses and state ID cards. This office does still take passport photos.

All of these services are handled in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner.
