Earth Moving: Excavator
A permit is required prior to excavating, grading, or filling in the floodplain, or within 50 feet of a river. A Wetland Permit is required prior to any filling, or draining, of a wetland. A Conditional Use Permit is required prior to mining sand, rock, or other material, unless such excavation is ancillary to a permitted construction project or is completed for agricultural or public utility purposes. A Stormwater Management Permit is required for any disturbance of land over one (1) acre in size. No earthwork can be done on slopes of 18% or more.

Junk Storage & Junkyards
Storage of any waste, discarded, and/or salvaged material must meet the standard specified in the County Zoning Ordinance. Any place that stores, buys, sells, or trades salvaged materials, or any place that stores five (5) or more inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicles for a period of more than three (3) months is considered a "junk yard", and is required to obtain a Conditional Use Permit for the activity to continue.

Tree & Shrub Planting
Trees cannot be planted closer than 25 feet from any property line. Shrubs cannot be planted closer than 15 feet from any property line.
