Human Services
The Human Services Department
consists of seven individual and distinct units, each
of which provides a wide variety of services for the
residents of Dodge County to choose from. While each
unit is responsible for its own individual programs
and which are governed by specific and differing requirements,
they work together to ensure that all available and
appropriate services are provided in a coordinated
and professional manner.
The Veteran Services Department
is also under the administration of Human Services
which promotes and supports a cooperative and unified
delivery of services between the two departments to
the benefit of the community and agencies.
There are
a total of 33 staff in Human Services and 1 in Veteran
Services.
Public Health
Public Health responsibilities
include the prevention of epidemics and spread of disease,
protect against environmental hazards, prevent injuries,
promote and encourage healthy behaviors and mental
health and respond to disaster and assist communities
in recovery. In order to accomplish these responsibilities,
Public Health offers a variety of programs in the following
five (5) key areas:
- Disease Prevention;
- Senior
Home and Community Based Services;
- Family Health;
- Environmental Health, and
- Health Promotion
Veteran Services Department
The Veteran
Services Department, through its Veteran Services Officer,
is responsible for providing services and case management
to people in the following categories:
- Disability
benefits
- Reintegration services
- Educational benefits
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Home Loans
- Burial benefits
- Dependents’ and Survivors’ benefits
- Health Care
- Life Insurance
- Transportation to and
from VA Hospitals
- Information & Referral
