Mission
Maintain the operability and
security of County computer systems and networks. Provide
computer, data communications, and telecommunications
support and services to the staff of Dodge County.
Services
The Information Systems (IS) Department
exists to serve other departments by handling all computer
and tele-communication needs. Included are all AS/400
routine and special request data processing operations,
LAN (lo-cal area network) and WAN (wide area network)
administration, telecommunication system administration,
and user support and problem management.
Routine and Special AS/400 Operations:
- Ensure data backup
operations are scheduled and completed successfully.
- Ensure
administration of all resource security on AS/400
system and applications.
- Installation and
testing of all user applications and AS/400 operating
system software.
- Support all special requirements
and user requests for operations of AS/400 user applications.
- Perform
routine maintenance on all equipment.
Local/Wide Area Network Administration
- Responsible
and accountable for maintaining the LAN/WAN environment.
- Provide
ongoing help desk support for routine and special
user hardware and software requirements.
- Ensure
data backup operations are scheduled and completed
successfully.
- Provide training for county
personnel in support of the LAN/WAN.
Telecommunication System Administration
- Responsible for maintaining
telephone hardware and software systems in support
of routine or special user telephone requirements.
Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

Mission
The mission of the GIS office is to develop,
implement, and maintain a GIS database for the county
departments, local government agencies, private companies,
and the general public.
The County GIS office is
responsible for acquiring the necessary data for
the county, performing quality analysis checks to
ensure its accuracy and source information, and for
the maintenance of the GIS system. The resulting
GIS will create an effective land records management
system that facilitates information gathering and
provides accurate and timely information to the county
departments and the public.
