Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Clinic and Dodge County Public Health to Hold Flu Vaccination Clinics at Kasson-Mantorville Schools
Registration is now open to sign-up Kasson-Mantorville School students to get their flu vaccine at school this October. Kasson-Mantorville schools are participating in this flu shot initiative held by Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Clinic and Dodge County Public Health.
This year, the flu shot and the nasal spray will be available. For those choosing the shot, nonmedication, pain-reducing options will be offered. Such options include Pain Ease Vapocoolant Spray that numbs the skin and “Buzzy the Bee”, a vibrating bee that provides a distraction.
Sign-up is required for your child to take part. Sign-up closes on Sept. 12th, and no sign-ups will be accepted after that date. Paper forms also are available at your child's school. To learn more about why the nasal spray is returning and sign up your Kasson-Mantorville student for this year's program, visit the Southeast Minnesota Immunization Connection website at http://www.semnic.org/schoolfluclinics.aspx
To prepare children for the upcoming flu clinic, teachers will have a short video to use in their elementary classrooms. The video on how the program works can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRUAySGFfBI&feature=youtu.be
Also, remember to check Dodge County Public Health’s website calendar as dates for the community flu clinics will be released soon: http://www.co.dodge.mn.us/departments/public_healthcalendar.php
