Public Health: History & Facts
 

According to records, Dodge County Public Health was one of the first services in the state being established in 1922. During the depression in 1933, the County Commissioners considered discontinuance of the service.

A group of interested citizens, both rural and village, petitioned the Commissioners for services to continue. This petition was granted so the county has had the Public Health service since its birth in 1922. This service was called a generalized service. As was reported, “Health is Everyone’s business” That is, all age groups were included according to need. People in all financial brackets were carried.

Public Health services were and continue to be to serve individuals, families and populations at large.
