According
to records, Dodge County Public Health was one of the
first services in the state being established in 1922.
During the depression in 1933, the County Commissioners
considered discontinuance of the service.
A group of
interested citizens, both rural and village, petitioned
the Commissioners for services to continue. This petition
was granted so the county has had the Public Health
service since its birth in 1922. This service was called
a generalized service. As was reported, “Health
is Everyone’s business” That is, all age
groups were included according to need. People in all
financial brackets were carried.
Public Health services
were and continue to be to serve individuals, families
and populations at large.
